Four Pillars
Your birth year, month, day and hour each form a pillar with a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch. Together, these make the eight characters of BaZi.

What is BaZi?
BaZi, meaning “eight characters”, is a traditional Chinese system that uses your birth year, month, day and hour to form the Four Pillars.
The chart is interpreted through the relationships among its elements and pillars, alongside changing timing influences. One animal sign or one element is only part of the picture.
Whether this is your first look at BaZi or you've studied it for years, Wuxora gives you the full picture — the relationships and context that make a chart meaningful, not just a list of labels.
The building blocks of a BaZi chart
Day Master
The Heavenly Stem of your birth day is the reference point for reading the other elements and relationships in your chart.
Five Elements and Ten Gods
Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water describe elemental relationships. The Ten Gods give more specific names to relationships relative to your Day Master.
Luck Cycles
These longer timing periods are read alongside the natal chart. They add context to changing influences, rather than replacing the chart or guaranteeing events.

How Wuxora approaches BaZi
Wuxora brings elemental balance, chart relationships and timing into a connected reading. Detailed interpretation gives the chart context; Applied BaZi lessons connect concepts with your own chart; saved takeaways preserve the insights worth revisiting. It is a workspace for personal understanding and ongoing practice, not only an introduction to BaZi. When a question goes beyond what’s in front of you, ask Master Wu directly—your chart is already the context, so the answer is about you, not a generic explanation.
BaZi is a traditional framework for reflection, not a scientifically established way to predict your personality or future. Your circumstances and decisions remain important.

Common questions
What information do I need for a BaZi chart?
Have your birth date, birth time if known, and the gender selection used by the chart calculation ready. Birth location is relevant when using the True Solar Time option. Check the details before interpreting your chart.
Is BaZi the same as the Chinese zodiac?
No. The familiar zodiac animal describes one part of the birth year. A BaZi chart includes the year, month, day and hour, and considers relationships across those pillars.
Does my chart tell me what will happen?
No chart can guarantee an event or decide what you should do. Wuxora presents traditional interpretations to explore alongside your lived experience, not instructions that replace your judgement.
Is Wuxora only for beginners?
No. The explanations make the chart accessible to newcomers, while experienced users can move directly to chart relationships, timing and detailed interpretations. Wuxora Plus also includes Applied BaZi lessons and saved takeaways for ongoing study.
